Project summary

StressProffen CABC is a subproject of the Cancer Registry of Norway’s research project Coping After Breast Cancer (CABC). The objective of the subproject is to test the effect of digital tools for coping with stress used by woman who either have breast cancer, or preliminary signs of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the most widespread form of cancer among women and many women experience late effects of cancer treatment. Confronted with a cancer diagnosis, many can experience stress. We know that various coping strategies can prevent problems related to worry and uncertainty, along with distraught emotions and thoughts. At the same time, we know little about which strategies may work best for each individual.

Therefore, this project tests two different programs for stress management through the app StressProfffen. Both programs are developed by experts in relevant content domains and are based on research-based methods that have proven effective when used, for example, in group therapy.

The department of Digital Health Research (DIG) is in partnership with the Coping After Breast Cancer study and is responsible for adapting and maintaining StressProffen’s stress management programs that being tested in the study.
